This is right along with, They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Mark 16:18. Only a few brave souls of some off shoot religion will actually take a poisonous snake, shake it around, and show you how much faith they have, unless they get bitten by the snake and die. Oh well, maybe their heart was in the right place. What the Psalm writer and Mark are really saying is, whatever the Lord sends you out to do, if He tells you you’ll be safe, than it doesn’t matter what kind of critter or sneaky animal that wants to do you harm, YOU WILL NOT BE HARMED. PERIOD. Ask Daniel in the lion’s den, or Paul gathering firewood, neither of them received any harm. On the other hand, the Lord does allow Christians to die by the “hand” of wild animals, as in the Roman Coliseum. That’s where Christians were killed for sport, just for the fun of it. Our futures are purely and totally in the Hands of the Lord, and no one else. We live or we die, it’s up to the Lord, and HIS will be fully content with whatever He decides. We’re all going to die sometime, just how, is up to the Lord. So again, as a Faith Builder, NOTHING WILL TOUCH YOU TODAY THAT FIRST MUST GO THROUGH THE THRONE ROOM OF THE LORD. NOTHING!!! Oh yes, and He has to OK it first, or else it isn’t going to happen to you. No matter what Satan wants to do to you, it goes through the throne room, first. Remember, the first 13 verses are written by David, and that all changes with verse 14. And with THAT, you WILL, Be Blessed.
