Daily Devotional. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by NIGHT; nor for the arrow that flieth by DAY; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in DARKNESS; nor for the destruction that wasteth at NOONDAY. Psalm 91:5-6. A pestilence is a destroying plague. It’s not hard to figure out that these 2 verses pretty well cover all 24 hours of the day. ANYTHING that is any sort of nighttime terror to you, is now declared by the Lord as something YOU ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED TO BE AFRAID OF, ANYMORE!!! If anything scares you at night, you are to deal with it and no longer fear it. God said it, that means there is a way out for you to no longer fear “that thing”. And He also covers the daytime. ANYTHING that would come against you in the daytime is not to be feared either. PLEASE UNDERSTAND, you are not TO FEAR anything, day or night, that raises its ugly head against you. Yes, the Lord MAY ALLOW something to smite you, but you are not to FEAR it. Big difference. This does not mean you’ll never suffer pain or loss, but that whatever the Lord ALLOWS to come your way, you are not to fear. This is not about defending yourself against an attacker over you or a loved one, that is between you and the Lord. This IS about when THE END comes, (also meaning a situation you can do nothing about, it’s now all in the Lord’s Hands), you are not to fear the end results, but Trust in the Keeping Power of the Lord. There is Trust, when there is no fear, that puts you in the center of God’s Hand with a Solid Confidence that HE will work it out any way HE wants to, and that you’re fine with that. “For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s”. Romans 14:8. With NO FEAR, that now puts your safety and future squarely on the Lord, the results are His best plan for you, and being content with THAT, you Will, Be Blessed.
