Daily Devotional. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou TRUST: his TRUTH shall be thy SHIELD and BUCKLER. Psalm 91:4. Think of a mother hen taking care of all her baby chicks. When danger comes around she gets the word out and all her little ones come running to her and get under her spread out wings for protection. That’s the only protection they know and they will fully trust her to protect them. And she will, or she’ll die trying. When a Christian senses danger he will go running to the Lord for protection and safety. TRUST: to seek refuge, flee for protection, to put trust in (God), confide or hope in (God). TRUTH: firmness, faithfulness, truth (noun feminine) sureness, reliability, stability, continuance, faithfulness, reliableness. SHIELD: A person or thing that provides protection. BUCKLER: A small, round shield either carried or worn on the arm. Are you starting to get the understanding that the Lord is going to take care of all His no matter what anyone else says or thinks? Basically, His Truth, the Knowledge, the Understanding of Who God is and that He wants to Keep you, is one of the first things you need to understand, BELIEVE AND OBEY. All the rest of Psalm 91 is built on this foundational Truth. Get this, and the rest is Faith. When you KNOW that God is going to take care of you through thick and thin, you’re home free. I didn’t say protect from ALL HARM, I said, He’ll take care of you. When you see mother hen pecking on a little one, she looks cruel, what you don’t see is, she’s pulling out a wood splinter stuck in that chick. Remember, EVERYTHING the Lord allows us to go through, (pleasant AND painful), is all to grow us stronger in Christ. Again, if we TOTALLY TRUST HIM, it’s all, OK. We KNOW it’s all for our good. And as we grow in Him, we WILL, Be Blessed.
