Daily Devotional. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power. THAT YOUR FAITH SHOULD NOT STAND IN THE WISDOM OF MEN, BUT IN THE POWER OF GOD. 1 Corinthians 2:4-5. When man speaks, it can be with very enticing words, proper shades and nuances of words that deal with fleshly wisdom and emotions. For example, a movie star brings you to tears with her part in a play or movie. As soon as she finished her part, she leaves the stage, goes out into the real world, and lives like a hoar, with no reflection of the part she has just played. Manny preachers do this exact same thing. They preach good eloquent words with no life, play on your emotions, and maybe even get you to walk the Isle, say The Prayer, tell everyone you’re saved, and you have no idea what this is all about. OR, you can simply have the Gospel Preached to you, fall under the Convicting Power of the Holy Spirit, and RUN to the front while the preacher is still preaching, wanting to get away from your filthy sins and into the Cleansing Power of the Holy Spirit, as fast as you can. Only the Preaching of the Gospel by the Holy Spirit can bring a Life Change into someone’s Life. Emotions only last but a moment. The Gospel lasts Forever. And after the Holy Spirit first changes you, He will continue to change you for the rest of your Life. And that can be a hard thing as He steps on toes to get to your old man nature, to kill self, flesh, and that old Adamic Nature. Don’t tell people you were once changed, but that you are continuing to change by the daily Work of the Holy Spirit, changing you from Glory to Glory, watching the old ways fall off, and a new Love for Christ take its place. It’s not about the once spoken emotional words of a slick talker once in your life that can change you, but just the Holy Work of the Holy Spirit that WILL change you. So be changed by the Holy Spirit Forever, and, Be Blessed.
