Daily Devotional. If a man therefore purge himself from these, (iniquity and dishonor), he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and PREPARED UNTO EVERY GOOD WORK. 2 Timothy 2:21. The purpose here is to get us to clean out filth, rot, iniquity, sin, and worldliness from out of our lives, our hearts, and our thinking. Like a surgeon getting ready for surgery, he washes, cleans, and removes any impurities in, on, and around him in order to properly prepare for a purpose higher and greater than himself. He has been called to Serve his patient by leaving all his own contaminants outside the door, so as to not pollute anyone inside his work area. Would you accept any less from him if it were YOU, on the operating table? If you require this High a Standard when the doctor comes to minister to you, WHAT KIND OF STANDARD DOES THE LORD REQUIRE OF YOU WHEN YOU COME INTO HIS PRESENCE TO MINISTER UNTO HIM??? Does your attitude suddenly change from, “BE YE HOLY” to, “ya, God’ll take me as I am, that’s plenty good enough”? Does your standard of proper procedure change when what you want others to behave like around you, is now expected OF YOU? Will you cast off all YOUR pollutions when God asks you to meet with Him in the Holy of Holies? This isn’t a once a year request like the Priests of old, this is 24/7/365 days a year. Are you willing to clean up your act ALL YEAR LONG, FOR EVER? Your best intentions can’t do this, so will you allow the Holy Spirit to do this in you? To make this a way of life for you? Can you Rejoice in the idea of God cleaning you up? Or is it, “OK God, maybe later”? If you’re Pure, you can go anywhere God sends you. If you’re filthy, where can you go? Go for Pure, and, Be Blessed.
