Daily Devotional. If ye will FEAR the Lord , and SERVE him, and OBEY his voice, and NOT REBEL against the commandment of the Lord , then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you (will) continue following the Lord your God: 1 Samuel 12:14. As some people will tell you, I’m glad this is Old Testament stuff because this is a far cry from how we follow the Lord today. Many people don’t like the O.T. way of doing things because back then it was so legalistic you couldn’t sneeze without being written up for doing it wrong. Today we’re under Grace and Life in the Lord is so much easier, all we need to do to follow the Lord is have faith and believe. At least that’s what most preachers will tell you. THAT KIND OF THINKING IS WRONG AND WILL GET YOU KILLED, AS IN DEAD, IN HELL. The Lord God Almighty Does NOT change, and what He said back then is just as True today. If you want to follow Christ, you still have to Fear, Serve, Obey, and Not Rebel. The only difference today is, the Big “C” Christians will run to Christ and Joyfully do whatever it takes to get to Him. The average, little “c” christian of today, (still goats, the Lord Lord people), will tell you all they have to do is have “faith” and “believe”. Did you notice the difference here? In verse 14, Christ is telling His Followers what HE wants, and today, under “Grace”, the goats are telling Christ what THEY want. Please read carefully, for most christians today, Grace is killing them, they don’t understand what it means or how to apply it to their life, and “too much of a good thing” can be devastating. If you don’t understand what Fear, Serve, Obey, and Not Rebel means in your walk with Christ, today, THAT’S OK, just ask Him. He’ll be glad to tell you. When you understand this, you, and we, will ALL, Be Blessed.
