Daily Devotional. STUDY TO SHEW THYSELF APPROVED UNTO GOD, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15. Let’s ask a baseline, foundational question to literally get to the bottom of things. This IS about the foundation of the church and how deep you want to go. This is generally asking about where you attend church, the Body in a building. Your answer is your answer, this is just something for you to think about. Question: What is the basis and foundation for your church/Body gathering together, to be about the Work of the Lord? Some churches are missionary minded. Some are more centrally located visiting around in the community. Some are jail and prison oriented. There are many things and places to do and be. Are you just about this (your answer) you do and that’s mostly it? Or are there other aspects added in to what you do to compliment what you do? For example, is prayer a big part of your church life? Do you study the Holiness, Righteousness, and Purity attributes of the Lord and ask Him to blend them into your church thinking? Are you only numbers based and try different things to build up attendance numbers in your services? There are lots of ways these questions can go, and lots of answers can be given. So with all this being said, the more personal question comes down to this, are you (your church) being obedient to the leading and instruction of the Lord and moving towards CHRISTLIKENESS, or are you happy just where you are and would rather not rock the boat? There are many things we, as individuals, and we as a church, can do. BUT THERE IS ONLY ONE THING WE CAN DO IN OBEDIENCE TO THE LORD. That one thing IS obedience. In one aspect, Obedience is all, or nothing. Without it, whatever you do WILL FAIL in the Lord. With it, everything you touch will prosper. I’m not talking prosperity gospel, I’m talking the Lord blessing what He directs you to do. Go, Do, Obedience, and, Be Blessed.
