Daily Devotional. Take heed to yourselves, that your heart BE NOT DECEIVED, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; Deuteronomy 11:16. Why would someone worship and serve other gods? One reason could be that they just haven’t found a god that stands head and shoulders above all the rest. If you’re looking and everything looks all the same, than any, “all the same” gods will do. A hungry searcher for God may be looking in all the wrong places, and they all leave him dry and thirsty for…. SOMETHING. When you stop looking on your own terms, and stop, and start asking the right questions, the Real God will start giving the Right Answers. It’s not a game, God WILL answer someone asking about Him, whether they know it or not. Here’s where “the church” is guilty of having too low a standard of God. Many times the churches god is pretty much a wimpy sop we sing silly songs to and no-one really believes. He doesn’t do much and doesn’t expect much. And what he does expect, we can pretty much do for ourselves. Church visitors see the same god in the church as they see outside the church. “I guess most any god will do”. ISN’T IT TIME THE CHURCH STARTED PREACHING, TEACHING, AND LIVING THE ATTRIBUTES OF GOD TO A LOST AND DYING WORLD??? Praising a God that is so Glorious that all the other gods fall by the way side in the dirt? A God so HOLY and RIGHTEOUS that just to come in the front door of the church, Repentance and Anguish of Heart have already fallen so hard that time stands still and God Himself touches every single person in the building that they go away professing, “GOD IS HERE IN THIS PLACE”, everywhere they go? THIS is the God of the Bible, Seek Him, Be Saved, and, Be Blessed.
