Daily Devotional – MORNINGTIME 1525

Daily Devotional. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Romans 12:19. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; Matthew 5:44. In the days of old, the Lord told Moses to stand back, He was going to wipe them all out and make a new nation of Moses. Moses said, No Lord, if you take them out, take me out also. Otherwise, keep Your Promise to Abraham, and let’s keep moving on. Moses stood in the Gap and interceded, (begged Mercy for) the people, and the Lord listened to Moses. These were people that numerous times wanted to kill Moses, and Moses still prayed FOR them. Ultimately, the Lord judged the people, found them guilty of sin, and they died. Today, when someone, or a group of people, want to, or do, do you harm, in words or in deeds, can you stand in the Gap for them and beg the Lord to have Mercy on them, a people who don’t deserve it? (Were you ever a sinner deserving of death, and the Lord showed you Mercy?) Can you go so far as to keep paying for them until either you, or they, die? Eternity in Hell is a long time, do you really want someone who has done you dirty to end up there? Or is there still hope the Lord can get to them with Repentance and Salvation before they die? In Obedience to the Lord, can you willingly Forgive someone for doing you dirty, AND EVEN LEAD THEM TO THE LORD??? What a testimony to a lost and dying world, Forgiveness in the face of Hatred. Love covers a multitude of sins. Love your “neighbor” as yourself, that you both may Be Saved, and, Be Blessed.
