Daily Devotional- MORNINGTIME 5017

Daily Devotional. He hath shewed thee, O man, what is GOoD; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to Do Justly , and to Love Mercy, and to WALK Humbly WITH thy God? Micah 6:8. For we WALK by Faith, not by sight: 2 Corinthians 5:7. This I say then, WALK in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16. And he (Saul, later to become Paul), said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: IT IS HARD FOR THEE TO KICK AGAINST THE PRICKS. Acts 9:5. One “version” of a “prick” says it was a leather ring with short inward facing “spikes” fastened around a horses ankle. When the horse would jump or kick, the pricks would aggravate the ankle and quickly encourage the horse to quietly Walk with his master. While “walking” the picks were no problem. Otherwise, to “kick” against the picks would hurt. Again, to walk quietly with the master, the ankle Prick was no problem, but to move too quickly, or run ahead of the master would be too jostle the Prick to cause the horse aggravation. The following is an illustration of the Godly “pricks” we Believers can deal with. When we Walk Patiently WITH the Lord, things in Life work nicely. But when we run ahead of the Lord or do things differently than His Way, usually problems arise and things don’t work well or work out the way they are supposed to. The Holy Spirit will gently guide us with a simple whisper or nudge and we’ll willingly move in that direction. But to say “No”, or try a different way, usually brings discomfort or hurt. No, the Holy Spirit doesn’t “force” us to do anything, but if we’re trying to follow Him and just get stubborn about doing something His Way, He has to use something to get our attention, or to redirect our steps back to His Way. The pain or disobedience can be slight, or it can really hurt as actions have consequences. GOoD actions have GOoD consequences, bad actions have bad consequences, it’s that simple. The Holy Spirit is a Gentleman as you will, Be Blessed.
