Daily Devotional. Pride goeth before DESTRUCTION, and an haughty spirit before a FALL. Proverbs 16:18. Have you heard the expression, “We can agree to disagree, and let’s move on”.? It’s a polite way of saying, You and I are never going to agree on this thing. I’m not going to change and you’re not going to change, so let’s just quit talking about this and move on. (Illustration). IF, you and I have the same God, and IF we both want HIM to “Win”, then it’s possible one, or both of us, may have to back down and admit a misunderstanding as to what THE LORD was Saying about whatever WE disagree about. That would be two people willing to put their Pride aside and dig out the Truth, no matter whose “toes” get stomped on? THAT’S HUMILITY. But what if the question’s too big to solve in the only available time? THEN LET’S MAKE TIME AND FIGURE THIS THING OUT. If even two who completely disagree on “something” will cast down their Pride and TOGETHER Seek the Face of Christ, CAN’T CHRIST EVEN START TO SOFTEN THEIR HEARTS AND THEY BOTH GET TO UNDERSTAND, “WERE MAKING SOME HEADWAY HERE, LET’S GET BACK TOGETHER, QUICKLY, AND KEEP GOING”? If a Spirit of Humility starts to fall on each “two or more gathered in My Name” group of people, ISN’T THE LORD, AND THE CHURCH, AND THE PREACHING OF THE WORD, THE WINNER, AND CHRIST IS EXHAULTED IN THE FACE OF A LOST AND DYING WORLD?? Wouldn’t that be a Worthy Goal to strive TOGETHER for? Or else, continue to “agree to disagree” and turn our backs on each other and walk away, because we WON’T make time to dig out the Truth? Who loses when Pride wins? Who wins when Pride loses? That’s the question before the Christian Church NOW. Until Christ DOES Come Back, WE DO HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD. It’s more “fun” to kiss and make up than stubbornly keep our backs to each other and have “Daddy” settle the fight. All it takes is 3 people to get the ball rolling, you, me, and Jesus. Maybe a spark of Revival CAN fall inside the church and ALL will Greatly, Be Blessed??
