Daily Devotional. For some of them thought, BECAUSE JUDAS HAD THE BAG, John 13:29. Judas Iscariot had a problem before he met Jesus, while he walked with Jesus, and after he left Jesus. He had a Heart Attitude for the love of money. Jesus knew this, and instead of trying to keep Judas away from the money and the money bag, Jesus put him in charge of it all. In those days money was kept in a bag. For Judas, this was like a kid in a candy store. He could take what he wanted whenever he wanted. And he did. Of course, he had to keep his thievery low key, a little at a time so no-one would notice. In his own self-deception, he was good at being sneaky, but to Christ, he was a sinner who needed to repent. He never did. For 3 1/2 years Jesus was ready to forgive him and help him with his sin problem, but Judas never confessed his sin to his Lord and Savior, he never asked for forgiveness, his love of money was greater than his love of the Lord. Like most people today, they only got to see Judas during church service for a short time and never got to KNOW Him, as a thief. Judas was the poster child for “Christian” to most people who short time saw him. He looked like a True Follower of Christ, a Christian, a man high up in the church with great authority. In reality, he was a lost dead man hiding his secrete sin from God and the world, thinking he would never get caught. His sin killed him and took him to Hell. Many people today call themselves “christian”, as they keep their secrete sins hidden from everyone around them. And in their own self-deception, they’re getting away with it, never realizing Christ stands ready to Forgive them of ALL their sins, if they will but ask. Again, these are the “Lord Lord” people in the church, putting on a good front fooling everybody, at least in their own mind. Many times Jesus will give you exactly what you want, to reveal a rotten heart attitude, so you and He can fix it. So fix it, and, Be Blessed.
