And when they (the “3 wise men”) were come into the HOUSE, they saw the YOUNG CHILD with Mary His mother, and fell down, and Worshipped Him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh. Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, FROM TWO YEARS OLD AND UNDER, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men. Matthew 2:11,16. This is either “legalism”, or, “getting it right”, you decide. To combine the above verses as an ILLUSTRATION of the start of baby Jesus life, is cute and nice. But to combine the above verses as an actual event that happened in just a few days, AND CONTINUE TO TEACH IT AS BIBLICAL FACT, hinges on man creating a “gospel” of our own making, but for what purpose? Are we Believers continuing a lie because that’s how we were taught it? Or is the Truth of 2 events possibly (up to) 2 years apart, too hard for us to humbly correct? It’s not that this is such a little “story”, why make such a fuss, but when our kids grow up and understand these ARE 2 separate events, “Hey Mom and Dad, what else in the Bible did you not teach us the Truth about”? Is it asking too much of us Believers to Teach even these simple Truths, from the start, and not have to “correct it” later? The world has included Santa Clause, (or Satan Claws), straight into the middle of the Christmas Story, and many Believers have swallowed it hook, line and sinker, for what?? Don’t rock the boat? Jesus Taught Facts, and called out, (and condemned) man’s traditions when based on a lie. Why won’t we just set the record straight, go against the “worldly” flow, and present ALL the Truth that they may, Be Blessed?
