Daily Devotional. For many are Called, but few are Chosen. Then went the Pharisees, and took counsel how they might entangle Him in His Talk. AND THEY SENT OUT UNTO HIM THEIR DISCIPLES with the Herodians, SAYING, MASTER, WE KNOW THAT THOU ART TRUE, AND TEACHEST THE WAY OF GOD IN TRUTH, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men. Matthew 22:14-16. How do people get Saved? This story COULD be a great example of how. I’ll illustrate. The Pharisees had no understanding of Who Jesus was as they were all wrapped up in their own pride and arrogance with their uplifted position in the “church” of that day. They were raising up chosen men to be just like them in their own version of “Biblical Understanding”, their own Disciples. Let’s hope for the best here and say that some of these Disciples may have had serious questions about the Real Authority the Pharisees seemed to have. Some may have had a serious interest in finding The Truth about God, and the Holy Spirit used that Interest to draw them to Christ, Hear His Words and Confirm in their Hearts that this was The Christ they were searching for. Maybe they got Saved during this “Christ Encounter”, or maybe Seeds were planted and they Believed on Christ after His Resurrection. Either way, no matter how “tightly” a follower may be bound to another man, the Holy Spirit will fill them with enough Truth to Draw them to Christ in Repentance unto Salvation. Satan CAN NOT STOP A HUNGRY HEART FROM COMING TO CHRIST! Yes, he will do his best to hinder, but a Hungry Heart will ALWAYS find Christ. The Holy Spirit will always give as much Godly Truth as a hungry heart can hold. We all have Free Choice to seek out Christ, hear The Truth, and decide if to follow Christ is worth it or not. Many will “try church” and walk away deciding to stay with the things of this world. CHRIST IS OFFERED TO ALL, but sadly, relatively few will find Him in Repentance unto Salvation. Come to Christ and to His Truth and Greatly, Be Blessed.
