Daily Devotional. To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the Day of the Lord Jesus. But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a Brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. 1 Corinthians 5:5,11,13. Why is God always so hard on Believers while lost sinners seem to get a “pass” and never suffer like many Believers seem to? HE LOVES HIS CHILDREN, THE BELIEVERS. “And ye have forgotten the Exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, (as sons), My son, despise not thou the Chastening (discipline) of the Lord, nor faint when thou art Rebuked (education or training) of Him: For whom the Lord Loveth He Chasteneth (instructs), and Scourgeth (punishes) every son whom He Receiveth (to acknowledge as His Own)”. Hebrews 12:5-6. Being Chastened and Rebuked is not only for existing Believers, but also for all those whom the Holy Spirit is Calling to come to Christ in Repentance unto Salvation, AND DO COME TO HIM. Salvation is offered to every man, woman and child on planet Earth, but not all who are Called will come to Follow Christ as their Lord and Saviour. It’s a free choice and one’s Final Choice will determine their Eternity. Being Chastened and Chastised is not always visible to someone watching because much of this work is in one’s Spirit and Heart. For a Believer to go through “tough times” does not necessarily mean there’s sin in their life, but that the Lord is Gently and Lovingly dealing with those Things He determines need to be worked on. And yes, it can be a hard core Sin the Lord is digging out, like a Surgeon removing an infection. Sometimes it’s antibiotics and sometimes it’s surgery needed to bring Healing to the problem.
