And when Simon (the sorcerer), saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, HE OFFERED THEM MONEY, Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. But Peter said unto him, THY MONEY PERISH WITH THEE, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for THY HEART IS NOT RIGHT IN THE SIGHT OF GOD. REPENT therefore OF this THY WICKEDNESS, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee. Acts 8:18-22. This story is a wonderful illustration of the Power of The Gospel to Save, and the power of Satan to deceive people into thinking they have been saved, and not be. Many preachers today don’t understand the Truth of Salvation. So Satan comes in with his version of phony salvation, no one knows the difference, and the “saved” man goes to Hell. Only Holy Spirit given Discernment will correct this Error. Here’s another problem, a religious looking man in town has a “ministry” that looks good, he hears The Gospel, BELIEVES THE GOSPEL, and continues on with his ministry believing he is walking with God. HE HAS NEVER REPENTED OF HIS SINS BECAUSE HE HAS NEVER MET CHRIST. He only HEARD about Christ, he has never met Christ. Many “christians” today have never met Christ, never seen their Sins and never Repented, BECAUSE NOBODY TOLD THEM THE GOSPEL. They walked the isle, said the magic prayer, joined the church, got a job in the church, and was told, “You are now a Christian”, with no idea of what the rest of the story was. Their heart never changed, their life never changed, and they’re still Lost. ONLY THE GOSPEL CAN SAVE. Man’s ways are phony ways to “salvation”. Preach The Gospel, Preach Repentance, Preach the Real Thing, and, Be Blessed.
