Daily Devotional. Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. WHEREFORE COME OUT FROM AMONG THEM, AND BE YE SEPARATE, SAITH THE LORD, AND TOUCH NOT THE UNCLEAN THING; AND I WILL RECEIVE YOU, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. 2 Corinthians 6:14-18. There are some powerful verses here with some very explicit directions that we are to follow. Come out, Be separate, Touch not, (sounds simple enough), and THEN I will receive you? So all we have to do is decide what we need to come out from, not touch, and separate from, and we’re home free. Just do these few simple things and God will be with us forever. OK, here’s the list, don’t drink, don’t do drugs, don’t run around, and separate ourselves from those who do. That works for me, then God will bless us with everything we need! See how easy it is to follow the Bible and do what it says to do? Piece-a-cake. Ya, now the bad news. This road leads straight to Hell. If you really believe that’s what these verses mean, YOU’RE FOLLOWING A cHRIST OF YOUR OWN MAKING. To even attempt to TRY to live in these 4 verses will take a whole lifetime, with much Fear and Trembling, lots of Anguish, Repentance is a huge part, and even getting calluses on your nose from trying to get lower than the carpet, these are things to do. And continual Fellowship with the Lord, with Christ, and with the Holy Spirit is a Lifestyle, not a check off box. This ONLY happens if you ask God to make you like His Son.
