Daily Devotional – MORNINGTIME 1472

Daily Devotional. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, AND THEY FOLLOW ME: John 10:27 This is a story about 3 men who met the preacher of a new, and very small, church, and at different times, decided to join this new fledgling group of Believers. They all seemed to be growing in Faith, Boldness, and understanding as the preacher helped them understand his theology. Miracles were being done, the church was growing, and all 3 men grew close to the preacher. The important thing to know here is that all 3 men seemed to be cut from the same cloth. The general congregation looked up to these men as true men of God. The Lord’s Hand was on the 3 and the Preacher. God was moving mightily in people’s lives. After a few years of good solid growth in the Lord, these Christians were highly respected and were asked to preach in many other places. If you could have talked to these 4 people, you’d swear they were all bible believing Christians. Remember the parable of the seed sower and the different soils? This little church went through this also. These men all looked like Rock solid Christians until the Lord allowed a problem to hit their church and reveal their REAL heart attitudes. This is where the rubber hits the road. One man decided he loved money more than God. He quit God and church and died in his sins. Another feared man more than God and almost left church, but he repented and came back into fellowship, stronger in the Lord than ever before. The third man never wavered in His faith and stayed strong through thick and thin. And the Preacher never doubted, never feared, and when he died, he went Home to be with the Lord. The moral of the story? All 4 men looked like solid Christians. Only 3 really were. Oh, the Preacher? He’s sitting at the Right Hand of God calling you to Follow Him, and, Be Blessed.
