Proverbs 25:21-22. “If thine Telemarketer calleth thee attempting to scammeth thee of thine precious personal data, quickly hangeth up on them and don’t fall for their deceitful wayeth”. 1 Colloromanthians 7:11. As far as I can tell, panhandlers used to be the largest group of people asking for food or money, usually at the end of the Interstate off-ramp stop signs. There are many news articles “proving” how these people are mostly scammers taking our hard earned money and laughing “all the way to the bank”. As these “accusations” may possibly all be true, nevertheless, THEY ARE ASKING FOR SOMETHING. Here’s a possible Christian answer to meet their “need” AND share Christ with them, THEIR GREATEST NEED. I put a “Chick Tract” (chick.com), a comic book type Tract, a “Bobby McGee Story” picture Tract, (christsongministry.org), a “business card” with 2 website locations to find a Daily Devotional to offer Spiritual Help, and a “Granola Bar” for the physical need. A friend will even add a couple dollars into her offered baggie of tracts and food. Why all this? To aim them towards Christ planting Seeds of Gospel Truth as we “heap coals of fire upon his head”, AND PRAYERFULLY ASK THE HOLY SPIRIT TO MINISTER CHRIST AND SALVATION AS ONLY HE CAN. You and the Lord decide what and how this may work for you as we all can Offer Christ in various ways. These are (generally) Lost People on their way to Hell actually ASKING for help, and who better to offer The One True Answer to ALL their needs than God Fearing Christ Followers with the backing of the Holy Spirit? If God actually Owns all YOUR stuff, He’ll still take care of you as you’re just sharing His Excess for them to, Be Blessed.
