When Wisdom entereth into thine Heart, and Knowledge is pleasant unto thy Soul; Discretion shall Preserve thee, Understanding shall keep thee: TO DELIVER THEE FROM THE WAY OF THE EVIL MAN, FROM THE MAN THAT SPEAKETH FROWARD THINGS; Proverbs 2:10-12. So what happens to Believers who don’t Study to shew themselves approved? Here’s a possible illustration to maybe answer that question. Imagine 3 horizontal lines, 1 across the bottom of the paper, 1 across the middle of the paper, and 1 across the top of the paper. From the middle line and down are the Lost who have never come to Christ in Repentance unto Salvation. They “play” church, trying to “look” like a Believer, they know just enough of the “lingo” to maybe fool a Believer into thinking they’re saved. Their Heart isn’t seeking Christ and they’re on their way to Hell. (There’s still hope for them, keep Praying). From the center line and up are the Believers, with a Heart for Christ, WITH VARYING DEGREES OF HEART HUNGER FOR THE THINGS OF CHRIST. They ARE on their way to Heaven. Some will just barely get by, on their way to Heaven. Some are so Hungry to see Souls Saved, they’ll do ANYTHING the Lord Asks of them. They’ll go sailing into Heaven where ALL Believers will see what, in their lives on Earth, passes through Christ’s “Judgment Fire” where wood, hay and stubble “works” go up in smoke, or come through the Fire as Gold, Silver and Precious Gems. THIS FIRE IS NOT THE GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGMENT, that’s elsewhere. The “slackers” do Pray and other good “Biblical” things, they just don’t carry any “reserve” with them going into Heaven. HEART ATTITUDE and Obedience will show where you stand between those top 2 lines. Not sure where you are? TODAY is the Day of Salvation. CHRIST WILL NOT LOSE EVEN ONE OF HIS SHEEP, ask the Holy Spirit to “rekindle” your fire for Christ and cast off fear and doubts, and replace them with Assurance and Fearlessness moving on in Christ.
