Daily Devotional. Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and Worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; Blessed be the Name of the LORD. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. Job 1:20-22. Job was a VERY rich man with all the stuff he had. A big, nice loving family, lots of sheep, cows and critters, plenty of money and food. He had it all. As a test, the Lord allowed Satan to take away everything Job had, all in one short day. Job is now sitting in ashes tying to understand what just happened, BUT AT NO TIME DID HE QUESTION OR ACCUSE THE LORD OF DOING ANYTHING WRONG. He KNEW everything he had came from the Lord and the Lord was well within His Rights to Give, or Take, ANYTHING that Job was Steward over. “Stewardship” is simply taking good care of someone else’s stuff. Job didn’t even complain when his big family was wiped out. Satan did leave Job’s wife who quickly told Job to, “Curse God and die”. Later God Blessed Job with a new big family and double all the stuff he once had. Job is a very good example to follow as the Lord may take away some, or all, of YOUR stuff, but that doesn’t mean you’ll get back double what you once had. The Lord will give, and He will take away whatever He wants to Grow us in Christ. Take very GOoD care of all that you have for family and stuff and like Job, Praise, Honour and Worship the Lord with all your Heart no matter what He allows to happen in your Life. Yes, it’s hard to suffer loss, but the Lord will help you through it, whatever it takes. He’s very good at using things around us to Grow us in Christ and CHRISTLIKENESS, whatever it takes. Can you say, “Thank You Lord” when something “good” OR “bad” happens to you? You WILL be tested and today’s a GOoD day to practice Thanking the Lord FOR EVERYTHING. Big or small, it’s all His and He’s Chosen to share His Stuff with you to, Be Blessed.
