Daily Devotional – MORNINGTIME 1470

Daily Devotional. Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. Matthew 4:1-2. Ok, so maybe this is an extreme example of total Obedience under very adverse conditions, and very few of us will ever be asked to do this kind of fast. (And a great sigh of relief was corporately heard across the Christian world). That one was hard, so what’s the easy stuff we can do. Oh, for starters we can pray unceasingly, we can fast oft, (often), and, let’s just start with these two. In a 24 hour day, how much time do you spend in prayer or in an attitude of prayer, whatever you want to call it. And how long can you fast, or how often. Only you and the Lord can answer these questions and your answers are your business. I’m guessing, if you compare even your best answers to Christ’s 40 days, you’ll find you have a lot of growing to do. JOIN THE CROWD, we ALL have a lot of growing to do. And that’s the Good News, YOU’RE STILL GROWING. You haven’t given up on Christ, and He hasn’t given up on you. And even if He does ask you to fast for 40 days, that’s ok, he’ll help you make it all the way to the end. One day, 40 days, in Christ it’s all a blessing from Him. What a privilege to receive His Blessings, and, Be Blessed.
