Daily Devotional – MORNINGTIME 1469

Daily Devotional. Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him. Matthew 4:1-2, 10-11. Jesus was tested his whole life, even to the very end, by His Father, The Lord, to continually see if His Son would stay strong and follow all the leadings of the Holy Spirit that the plan for our Salvation would be carried out. To fast for 40 days without food and water is impossible, UNLESS YOU ARE LIVING AND MOVING BY THE POWER OF THE LORD. He was, He was Obedient, and we have Salvation as proof of it. I am talking to me as I look in the mirror, and I will ask you the same question I ask myself. How is it that Jesus had such a strong relationship with His Father that He could stand up to Satan after 40 days of fasting, AND I CAN FALL FLAT ON MY FACE IN DISOBEDIENCE AND SIN IN ALMOST NO TIME AT ALL????? The Lord ALLOWS us to be tested, Satan goes for the jugular, and I can fall like a house of cards. I HATE it when it happens, I am growing in Christ, but on occasion, this still happens. Does your testimony have anything like this in it? If so, don’t give up, we WILL keep growing in Christ together. If this doesn’t happen to you, GOoD for you, keep going, and pray for us slow pokes. We all may be at different places in our Walk with the Lord, but we’re all in this together. Jesus had set the Standard. If God says fast and pray, He knows what He’s talking about. He’s been there, done that, and has the tee shirt. Growing in Christ may be a long road, but it’s do-able and His Reward is more than we can comprehend. So Follow Christ, Grow In Christ, and, Be Blessed.
