Daily Devotional. He that hath my commandments, AND KEEPETH THEM, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. John 14:21. Let’s call this verse #1. This is Gospel, this is Scripture, and this is Life. Christians, Believers, Followers of Christ, understand this verse and live by it. Now for verse #2, slightly different, and believed by all the Lord Lord people in church. Here goes. He that hath my commandments, he it is that loveth me: Do you see the difference? Many people believe “verse #2”. Please read carefully. They have a cross hanging around their neck, they have many bibles in the house, generally unread, they have scripture verses stuck to the refrigerator, getting dusty, they go to church every Sunday morning, but not Sunday night or Wednesday night, and they know that God is Love. And best of all, they know they’re saved because the Preacher told them so. These are happy little Lord Lord people. The ONE THING they have all missed, is, “and keepeth them”, (Christ’s commandments). Many have even grown up in the church hearing all about the commandments, JUST NEVER OBEYING THEM. Never seeing their faults and never asking Christ to help them be Victorious over their disobedience. They are following a happy loving christ of their own making. A christ that doesn’t require anything of them. Just listen to the Preacher on Sunday morning, say Amen, and go home. No other requirements are needed. Obedience will make a world of difference, obedience will set you free, obedience will Grow you in Christ, with Obedience you will, Be Blessed.
