Daily Devotional- MORNINGTIME 4030

Daily Devotional. So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging. Then the men feared the Lord exceedingly, and offered a sacrifice unto the Lord, and made vows. Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights. Jonah 1:15-17. (And FINALLY), Then Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish’s belly, And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the Lord, and he heard me; OUT OF THE BELLY OF HELL cried I, and Thou heardest my voice. And the Lord spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land. Jonah 2:1-2,10. Think about it, Jonah was so angry with the Lord, KNOWING the Lord would Forgive those vile sinners who so wickedly deserved to go to Hell, that Jonah was tossed around in the big fish vomit with seaweed wrapped around his neck for three days and three nights, AND THEN he finally decided he’d had enough and called out to the Lord his God for Mercy and Help. His anger was greater than his situation. He’d gladly suffer like this for 3 days stewing in his own juices, and those of the big fish, before he Prayed. THAT’S ANGRY. After 3 days of tumbling around in stomach acid, he was probably very white and severely wrinkled, what acid does. I’m guessing here, but it “seems” like Jonah didn’t bother to wash up or pull off the seaweed, but just went to hard Preaching for the 40 days. Jonah Preached and they got Saved, just like Jonah knew the Lord would do. And he got even angrier. Even Prophets can have a bad day. No matter what your attitude, PREACH CHRIST AS DIRECTED, then let the Lord deal with YOUR Heart Attitude. Obedience is always better than Sacrifice. DO THE JOB FIRST, then let the Lord clean you up. Don’t get your eyes on the RESULTS of Preaching, you’ll never truly know if what you “see” is right or not. Keep your eyes on Christ and His Results IN YOUR LIFE. That’s the only Life you’ll truly see to see change, and, Be Blessed.
