Daily Devotional. THE BACKSLIDER IN HEART shall be filled with his own (bad) ways… Proverbs 14:14. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, EXCEPT THERE COME A FALLING AWAY FIRST, and that man of sin, (the anti-christ), be revealed, the son of perdition; 2 Thessalonians 2:3. For the time is come that JUDGMENT MUST BEGIN AT THE HOUSE OF GOD: and if it FIRST begin AT US, what shall the end be of them (church goers) that obey not the gospel of God? 1 Peter 4:17. Judgment begins in the church first, the Lord will make it hard for the phonies, the pseudo christians, the uncommitted and unconvinced, to stay around. They’ll bail out like rats off a sinking ship, and only those solidly Committed to Christ will gladly and willingly stay, even if it costs them their lives. Here’s the bottom line, Christians cling to Christ and nothing can shake them loose. Anyone less, will quickly leave at the first sign of adversity. Backsliders are ones who never came to Christ and quit without finishing their race. Maybe they lost interest, maybe following Christ was just a fad for a short time, maybe someone talked then into “coming” to Christ, and another talked them out of coming to Christ. Either way, any way, THEY QUIT, FOR WHATEVER REASON OR EXCUSE. “Who is he that overcometh the world, but HE THAT BELIEVETH (in word and deed) THAT JESUS IS THE SON OF GOD”? 1 John 5:5. Believers won’t shake loose, and unbelievers can’t hang on. Everything, I repeat EVERYTHING, will be so violently shaken before this is all over that ONLY Christ (and all who are His), will be left standing. Backsliders only come part way, quitters only go some of the way, OVERCOMES GO ALL THE WAY. Life is tough for everyone, nothing new there. Do you have a heart to come to Christ? He’ll help you get there. Don’t know The Way? He’ll show you The Way. Just go at it one day at a time with no concerns for “tomorrow”. Leave it all in His Hands, they’re big enough to carry you into eternity, to, Be Blessed.
