Daily Devotional. THE BACK SLIDER IN HEART shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself. The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going. A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident. Proverbs 14:14-16. (Now the other side of the coin). Come unto Me, (Christ) all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light. Matthew 11:28- 30. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, EXCEPT THERE COME A FALLING AWAY FIRST,… 2 Thessalonians 2:3. The “backslider” and “falling away” are like brother and sister, they are very closely related. If you try to get to a goal, or try to accomplish, complete, a certain thing, and don’t make it, don’t complete it, don’t attain to the desired end result, AND QUIT, STOP TRYING, GIVE UP, that’s backsliding, falling away, quitting, AND NO ONE WINS A RACE UNDER THESE TERMS. We can use all the excuses and blame game reasons as to why we didn’t finish we can come up with, but the bottom line is, YOU QUIT GOING FOR THE GOAL. You chose to stop of your own free will. In terms of Salvation, ONLY those who actually come to Christ and see Him for Who He Is, and who you are in your sins compared to Christ, WILL NEVER LEAVE HIM. To win the race is to win Christ, and Christ has declared that ALL who want to seek Him WILL find Him, and when they see “The Prize”, they will never let Him go. To Desire Christ with your whole heart is all you need to Find Him. He will never turn anyone away who is serious about Finding Him. Christ doesn’t hide from people, making Himself hard to find, no, He will direct your steps TO find Him, if you’re serious. What is “serious”? Keep moving towards the Prize until you find Him, and He is easy to be found. Seek Him, Find Him, and, Be Blessed.
