Daily Devotional- MORNINGTIME 3801

Daily Devotional. And Israel (the Jewish people following Moses through the desert) abode in Shittim, and the people began to COMMIT WHOREDOM with the daughters of Moab. And Israel joined himself unto Baal-peor (the god of sex): and the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel. And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman (a whore) in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it (2 naked people running past the “church” doorway), he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand; And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly (in the very act of whoredom) So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel. And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand. Numbers 25:1,3,6-8-9. This is a very strong and stern example of disobedience. “For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God”. Deuteronomy 4:24. The Jews were running headlong in sexual perversion and the Lord was looking for someone to put a stop to it. Phineas saw the sin, “called it out” and put a stop to it. He stood between the sinners and the Lord. “I’m faithful to my wife, what does this have to do with me”? Good for you, BUT DO YOU HAVE OTHER “LOVES” IN YOUR LIFE YOU PUT BEFORE THE LORD? Do you make time for (for examples) sports, or entertainment, AND THEN FIND YOU DON’T HAVE TIME FOR THE LORD? Is the Lord absolutely First in your life and EVERYTHING ELSE takes second place? There is no condemnation here, but maybe a “wake-up” call to Examine Yourself, look at your Life through the Lord’s Eyes and ask Him if there’s anything He wants to change in you, your Heart, or your Life. If you find something, Repent, turn from it, and, Be Blessed.
