Daily Devotional- MORNINGTIME 3659

Daily Devotional. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: NO MAN COMETH UNTO THE FATHER, BUT BY ME. John 14:6. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, AND FEW THERE BE THAT FIND IT. Matthew 7:13-14. Let’s look at this from man’s perspective. It looks like Jesus is being pretty arrogant with an attitude of, “It’s my way or the highway, follow me, or else”. To think like this is to let Satan in as he grabs up the “seeds” of Salvation before they can even start to grow. Satan tries every trick in the book to stop those seeds from taking root in someone to possibly lead them into Salvation. He desperately tries to make Christ look like a mean person with no compassion as He coldly tells you, “It’s my way, or else”. Now let’s look at these verses through the Eyes of Christ. Remember the wagon trains in the early days of the frontier? They would send out a Scout to go find the best and safest pathway to get to their final destination. A few days later he’d come back and tell them of the Safe Way to get there, AND the deadly dangers of trying those other pathways, with some looking even better than THE pathway. Was the Scout cold hearted and arrogant to tell them, “I KNOW the Way, and this Pathway is it”? Or was He being Kind and Merciful to Encourage them to take the ONLY Safe Way to their new Home? It was then the people’s choice to choose the path THEY wanted to follow. Those who followed The Scout arrived safely, those who “knew better” went a different way and perished in the wilderness. The Scout Loved and Cared for ALL the people, BUT HE LEFT THE CHOICE OF WHICH PATH TO FOLLOW UP TO THEM. They would live, or die, of their own choice. Christ Graciously offers the ONLY safe Way into Eternity and Heaven. He’s been there and He KNOWS what He’s talking about. Follow Christ, and, Be Blessed.
