Daily Devotional- MORNINGTIME 3396

Daily Devotional. And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother. And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up. Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, FOLLOW ME. And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich. And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD’S SAKE, WHO SHALL NOT RECEIVE MANIFOLD MORE IN THIS PRESENT TIME, and in the world to come Life Everlasting. Luke 18:18-24,  29-30.  Mother Teresa’s religion told her to take a vow of poverty, and to get rid of everything. She was told these Works would get her into heaven. Her religion was wrong. Christ MUST be First, Foremost, and Everything to you, or He is nothing at all. But when HE IS EVERYTHING, then everything else, if asked to give them all up, have no Heavenly Value and are “valueless” to you. Here’s the second part that Mother Teresa didn’t understand. When Christ says, “Get rid of it all”, He will replace YOUR all, with HIS all. And HIS ALL includes Total Love, Joy and Peace for ALL PEOPLE, and ALL of what He asks you to do. Not as “Works”, but in Obedience to His Desires for your Life. That Love, Joy and Peace will carry you Victoriously through EVERYTHING you encounter in this Life, and into the next. When you give up your “baubles” to Follow Christ, you get all of Him INFUSED into all of you, and in His Love, you will ETERNALLY, Be Blessed.
